This last summer I gave myself a challenge. To read 1 book. I did read that one book and also 6 others. With a 2 year old running around keeping me busy and not to mention cooking, baking, cleaning, and laundry it's hard to sit down and read for long periods of time. When I started reading again I realized how much I missed it and loved it!
I don't care for heavy "love scene" books. I like to read mystery, suspense, memoirs, history, some romance, and well anything as long as it keeps me interested.
Here is the list I have read:
I Know This Much is True by Wally Lamb was my first summer read. It was awesome! I recommend this book to anyone. I laughed, got angry, and cried...a lot!
Carry Me Home by Sandra Kring was a great story too! You will want this story to go on and on. I loved it!
The Book of Bright Ideas by Sandra Kring really touched my heart. The little girls are so cute and some of the grown up stuff confuses them so.
Thank You for All Things by Sandra Kring was a little shocking and neat how you see the world through the eyes of the character.
The Hour I First Believed by Wally Lamb was to me a long long story. I did like the book, but it could have been 2 books honestly. It's got lots of sad, but a redeeming quality at the end.
Born on Fourth of July by Ron Kovic was very sad. This was my step-dad's book and I can't say I didn't like it, but it was definitely sad and truthful. Nice short book.
